Doodle leaves

I do love the seasons, well not all seasons, if it was up to me they can skip winter. Can't stand the cold and snow but autumn on the other hand is one of my favourites. First of all there are all the colours, leaves turn the most amazing tones of auburn, yellow and red. Especially on clear days with a bright blue sky the autumnal leaves just look amazing. Then there is all the layering up with wool scarves, finger less gloves and jumpers and not to forget the season of hot choco. Hot chocolates alone are a good reason to love autumn.

I was walking Kermit the dog in the park the other day and thought surely I can do something fun with all these beautiful leaves. I took some home, washed them (it is a dog park after all) and started doodling on them. I love the black sharpie marks on the fragile leaves.

This is a great project for a grey afternoon and if you have kids get them involved. Go to the park and pick up some leaves, collect all different colours and sizes. Rinse them under the tap and pat dry with kitchen paper. When the leaves are completely dry you can get artistic!

I love using just a black felt tip but you can use any colour you like and simply start doodling. You can follow the shape of the leaf or draw something in the middle, you can even handletter on your favourite words. Once the leaves are all done hang them on the wall with some washi tape or make a big garland by wrapping a piece of twine around the stems.
