Outdoor cinema, autumn activity ideas

Just because the weather is getting colder and the evenings darker that doesn’t mean you should stop spending time in your garden. Have a look at how easy it is to make your own outdoor cinema! Hang up a sheet, grab your blankets and make a big bowl of popcorn, it is movie time!

We absolutely love our outdoor movie nights, especially for the little one, it is so magical to see the sky getting dark, the solar light ping on and to cuddle up under a heap of blankets. Invite your friends, let them bring their favourite movie snack and put on a blockbuster.

I use a small projector that attaches to a phone but any projector can be used (just bring it back inside when you are done watching your movie) A projector that charges through an USB port is easiest to use as you can just attach it to a powerbank and don’t have to worry about extension cords running to your outdoor sofa

Don’t have a gazebo like mine where you can hang up your makeshift screen? Hang your sheet over a washing line, attach it to your fence or stick two broomsticks in a bucket of sand to act as stands. As you can see in the video I used an old duvet cover as a screen and cut it to 100 cm by 60 cm. You can make a bigger screen if you have a bigger projector but I wouldn’t go much smaller.

What movie would you watch in your own outdoor cinema? We like to do all the Disney classics but I might gear up for a Halloween fright fest! Not with the little one though :D
