Super easy console table build
In my old house I had a small console table behind the sofa and I really missed that handy spot to put your coffee cup down, display art, store some books and a have a handy light so it was time to build a new one.
A behind the sofa table really is the easiest build to do. As it squished in between the sofa and the wall it doesn’t matter if it is a little wobbly. You can’t see the legs so you can use any old off cut for this build. Have a look at my tutorial.
I used the longest plank I could find in the garage, its rather thick, a plank of around 20mm will do just fine but this is what I had so this is what I used. I used a smaller plank to add an extra piece to the console table to follow the corner of my sofa. It would be lovely to have a table behind the whole of my sofa but I didn’t want to block my radiator hence only making that extra bit 40cm long.
What do you think if the behind the sofa table? Cute right! It gives you the opportunity to add a bit of layering to your interior. Add some tall frames in combination with some pretty books, a lamp and a bouquet of flowers for a cozy vibe.
I used a wood stain on my table, the same as I used on the tv stand. But you can keep the wood as it is or you can paint it the same colour as your walls. Or you might want to go for a pop of colour, whatever fits your interior best. As it’s only the top of the plank you will see you can experiment!
