Zpagetti yarn fly curtain
The summer is still here! How great is that :D We just had the hottest day of the year and it is September, loving it! As the sun is still here I thought I'd do another summer craft. A new take on my fly curtain.
I posted a video a few weeks back on how to turn a plastic table cloth into a fly curtain and although I still love that curtain I was wondering if I could make one out of jersey yarn as well. I love the Zpagetti yarn Hoooked makes, it's made from left over jersey from the clothing industry so 100%recycled. You can use it to knit, crochet and macrame with and also makes for a great curtain. Every season Hoooked comes out with new colours but I love this simple grey jersey especially as the inside of my door frame is bright yellow.
To add some interest to the curtain I knotted the top section, a sort of macrame, looks tricky but is super easy to do, have a look
Looks great doesn't it? Even in my very ugly back door... Almost didn't post this as a tutorial as I really don't like the look of my door but hey lets keep things real right. We don't all live in show homes :)
I used 33 strands of yarn but you could use more if you want to make a denser curtain. You can also use more then one colour of yarn if you want, maybe even go ombre with a dark blue on the left a jeans blue in the middle and a light blue on the right. As you knot the yarn it will give a lovely effect. What colour(s) would you use?

I'll be back next week with a new video, if you have any suggestions what you would like to learn to make please let me know. In the mean time why don't you have a look on my IG to see what craft I'm up to follow me on @byhestergrams
