Bleach art, frame your own canvas
I love my new wall art in my bedroom! The wall has been left plain since we decorated a year and a half ago. I had been looking for art work but never could find something I loved, so last week I decided to make my own.
If you watched last weeks tutorial you have seen that its super easy to design your own fabrics using bleach. That's all you need just a dash of bleach and a piece of cotton. (if you missed the tutorial here's the link http://youtu.be/i86THRzLslQ )
In this weeks video I show you how super easy it is to stretch your handmade fabrics on a canvas. Creating your own unique art works.
If you don't fancy making your own fabric designs you can use any other fabric you adore, like your favorite T shirt, or a vintage sari or what about a Nordic print tea towel?
You will need:
- Stretcher bars, I bought mine on Ebay. You simply slot them together to create a empty square. You can buy them in whole range of different sizes.
- A staple gun, always be careful when using a staple gun but they are your best friend ;) You can pick one up for under £10 at your local hardware shop or online.
- A scissor to trim your fabric to fit your frame.
- And of course your fabric of choice
Have a look at my video to see how easy it is to make your own stretched canvas
Super easy right? And I promise I didn't match my shirt with the big canvas ;)
Are you going to have a go yourself? Would love to see your creations!!
