Colour scavenger hunt and rainbow photo collage making, craft ideas for the summer.

In partnership with Very.co.uk

Looking for something crafty to do with your little one this summer? I’ve used one of Very’s printers to have a full day of entertainment. It involved Kiki (my 4 year old), my camera phone, a colour hunt, some very easy to print images, a glue stick and a rainbow collage.

Come on a rainbow photo scavenger hunt turned collage with us!

Very asked if I liked to try out one of their printers and as we love going on a treasure hunt I thought it would be fun to go hunting for colours that we then turn into a piece of rainbow art. A perfect activity for the summer holiday, you start by trusting your camera phone to your child so they can take pictures. I must say I was a little bit nervous giving Kiki my phone but she absolutely loved taking all the images we needed for the collage. As my little girl loves anything rainbow we decided to take pictures of things that are just one colour and one of the colours of the rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and our bonus colour pink.

You can directly print photo’s from your phone using the free Canon app so Kiki could pick the photos she liked best and by one touch of a button they came out of the pink printer. It is so much fun to watch the printer do its thing as it prints one colour at the time so you can really see your image being build up. Pure colour magic for a small child. I was really impressed with the quality of the images, this is a small printer but it really packs a punch.

Who knew you could get lab quality prints from your phone! Just these pictures on your wall would be great but they look even nicer made into a rainbow collage. I cut all the pictures, you can mix up the sizes of your photos in the app, it really couldn’t be any easier. We arranged the photos on a piece of paper in rainbow order and with a bit of glue our rainbow photo collage was finished!

Have a look at all the printers Very sells on their website here, Kiki was rather taken by all the pink ones :D Very makes it super easy creating pictures (and wall art!) with their photo printers, inks, paper and fast delivery.

It was so nice to see Kiki take all the images, she sure enjoyed an extreme close up :D They say kids see the world in a different way so it was a lot of fun having her in charge of the camera. We took photos in town but you can easily do a colour hunt in the forest, in your garden or in the comfort of your own lounge. The ease of using the Canon app for printing the images really ads to the fun of this project, kids can take the pictures, print them and make an art piece with them too. Triple fun!
