Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in DIY, interior and lifestyle. Hope you have a nice stay!

Wallpaper into a Christmas tree?

Wallpaper into a Christmas tree?

I kept seeing these really sweet harmonica style paper Christmas trees, from small ornaments to trees almost as tall as me. The little ones didn’t cost much but the tall tree, the one I really liked had a 100 euro price tag so I started thinking for sure I can make one myself!

To make a tall tree I would need large pieces of paper though, at least A1 size. I didn’t had A1 size paper and that paper isn’t cheap too. And you know what we are like here on Handmade Home, why buy materials when you can use something you already have lying around. What tall paper did I had lying around??

The wallpaper I used for the guest bedroom makeover! I had a few rolls left, and as it was a vintage wallpaper couldn’t return it to the shop. Perfect paper to try out if my idea of a handmade Christmas tree could work.

My tree ended up being 85cm tall, a height that worked best with the width of the paper and I used a roll and a half of wallpaper for the tree you see above. Want to know how you can make one for yourself? Have a look at the video below.

What do you think? Shall I keep the tree the way it is? Nice and space saving or shall i make it round so it can sit on its own?

I hope you all have a wonderfull Christmas and can’t wait to share more projects with you in the New Year.

xx Hester
