Vinyl wrapped countertops, budget kitchen update

My kitchen has gotten a new look, yup…again!! If you have been following me for a while you would have seen several makeovers in my kitchen but I think this might be the last one…for now :D

When we first moved in the dated kitchen got a budget makeover by replacing the cupboard doors with plywood, covering the ugly tiles with a kitchen wallpaper and by painting the countertops with a granite paint kit. July last year I painted the kitchen again, you can see that here. And although I liked the black counters at first come winter it really was too dark for me. I prefer lighter colours in my interior especially on days where we hardly get any sun light, time for a new look!

How easy was that! Well the application was easy, getting the sealant removed mot so much :)

I love the new look of the kitchen and it brings so much more light into the room.

The tool I use to get the air bubbles out is by DC-fix too and is part of their application kit, you could also just use your hands, a piece of cardboard or an old store card/credit card. For my kitchen I used 3 rolls of DC-Fix marble paper, making this a £15 makeover! Love that for such a small amount my kitchen has a new look.

The vinyl is heatproof to 75C, as you can see I use a wooden chopping board under warm items like cups of coffee or a hot pan. this will protect the vinyl and keep it damage free.

The vinyl is a good option for renters too as it is easily removable. I love this marble look, what would you have chosen? A stone, or maybe a solid colour?

So what do you think? Is this it for the counters and kitchen now? When will I be updating its decor again…. I think I’m finished now but you never know :)
