Pallet wood letter planters
My new book came out on Tuesday!! Pallet Wood Projects for Outdoor Spaces is already my 5th (!) book and like the title says it is full of makes for your garden, balcony or terrace. 35 Projects made from the humble pallet and to celebrate the launch of the book I’m going to show you how to make one of my favourite projects from the book, the pallet wood letter planters filled with faux flowers.
I love how the bright coloured flowers look against the rough texture of the pallet wood plank, have a look at the tutorial video to see how to make your own.
I showed you how to make a K (and a H in the book) but you can of course make any letter you want. Will you make your initial or will you make several and spell out a word? As long as you make sure your letter has straight lines, you can make any you like. For the rounded letters like the O, C and Q you will need to draw them the digital way and have straight sides straight instead.
For the letter planter I used
a piece of 9mm plywood 25x30 cm
one and a half pallet wood plank
faux flowers (all from Hobbycraft)
wood glue (I like using Gorilla wood glue)
All the tools used are from the Ryobi one+ range and were previously gifted, I used a
jigsaw
mitre saw
glue gun
nail gun
and orbital sander
Using these tools will make building a lot faster but don’t fret if you don’t have them you can use your handsaw, a hammer and normal sanding paper as well. I would really recommend using a jigsaw for cutting out your letter shape though as it’s such a handy tool to have.
I am giving a signed copy of my new book away over on my Instagram!

Tagging a friend will give you an extra entry. The winner will be picked at random on Monday the 15th of April 2019.
Good luck!!
You can find Pallet Wood Projects for Outdoor Spaces in any good bookstore, if they don't have it on the shelves ask the shop owner to order it. Or have a look on Amazon, they sell all my other titles too. Leaving a review on the book website really help other people seeing the book too so if you have a spare minute I would LOVE it if you could leave a review and say what you thought of my new book.
Looking forward seeing all your pallet builds!! x Hester
