DIY Portable Potting Table
It’s that time of year again to get the vegetable seeds started and every year I think i could really do with a potting table but I really don’t wants another object in the garden taking up space so that had me thinking…
Wouldn’t building a potting table that I can move around and put away be a good idea? Not so much a potting table but a potting tray? And can I build it for NO money with materials I have lying around the garage?
Well let’s find out shall we :D
I think that is rather successful! A shoe tray from IKEA, a few offcuts of plywood, an old slide and some wooden blocks make up a perfect potting bench. The paint is a leftover tin from the table project last year, it’s Portland Stone from RustOleum.
At the end of the summer I always keep some of the flowers and vegetables purely for growing seeds for the next year. Like these runner bean seeds. I use old pages of magazines to fold little envelops and store them away till next spring. This makes growing your own vegetables very affordable! I also do this with the poppy’s, cornflower, fennel, radishes and sunflowers. I have to be on guard with the sunflower heads though as the local gang of parakeets love eating all the seeds :)
What do you like growing in your garden? Any vegetables I should try out this year? I now have a potting bench so I can gardening to my hearts’s content without making a humongous mess of our garden table :D
